Wrath of the Old Gods
Local Legends: Nymph's Grotto
Dalesfolk tell tales of a beautiful granite grotto half submerged in a pond some distance west of Essembra. The grotto is said to be inhabited by a Nymph, who maintains watch over a small shrine to Sylvanus. Though benevolent, the Nymph’s unearthly beauty is rumored to have caused the untimely demise of many brave adventuring men who became bewitched with lust upon sight of the creature, refusing to leave her company even to eat or sleep. Some speculate that the Nymph has retained their treasures as offerings to Sylvanus and watches over the remains of the adventurers as penance for her role in their deaths.
